Fans trying to piece together what the next season of American Horror Story will be about are getting some big clues with a look at its politically charged opening credits sequence.
After dropping the signature jittery style last season, “American Horror Story: Cult”, as it’s being called, brings the classic music back, but with a twist.

Military style music has been mixed in, and with shots of George Washington models and Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton masks, “AHS: Cult” is starting to look like a truly terrifying take on American politics, complete with knife-wielding clowns.
Meanwhile, the first trailer for the upcoming season features stars Sarah Paulson and Evan Peters displaying some extreme responses to the results of the November 2016 election, along with killer clowns and a clownish throwback to the “Freak Show” season of “AHS”. Watch:
Show-creator Ryan Murphy has already indicated that the new season will take on a political bent. “The season that we begin shooting in June is going to be about the election that we just went through,” he told Andy Cohen on “Watch What Happens Live”.
