UPDATE (Saturday, Apr. 11 4:56 p.m. ET): A rep for Solange Knowles has released the following statement regarding the attack on her business partner Armina Mussa, who remains in critical condition after being stabbed 10 times in New Orleans.
Solange Knowles is reeling after her friend and business partner Armina Mussa was stabbed 10 times Wednesday in New Orleans, where she remains in critical condition.
Knowles, sister of Beyonce, flew to New Orleans to be by her friend’s side, while police arrested suspect Arronesia Christophe, who is charged with attempted second-degree murder in the incident.
According to The New Orleans Times-Picayune, Christophe told police that it was Mussa who attacked her, claiming she was acting in self-defense when she grabbed a small folding knife and stabbed Mussa repeatedly.
Mussa is project director for Knowles’ Saint Heron clothing line, and she and Knowles are co-owners of the Exodus Goods boutique in the French Quarter.
The newspaper also reports that Knowles was present on Thursday for Chrisophe’s court appearance
A rep says that Knowles has no comment at this time, and confirmed that she was not in New Orleans when the incident took place.
