Annie Lennox To Be Honoured At 2017 Global Citizen Festival

This year’s Global Citizen Festival just got even bigger.

Annie Lennox will be honoured at Global Citizen Live! with the prestigious George Harrison Global Citizen Award.

The festival, which runs from Sept. 17 to Sept. 23, is returning to New York City this September with headliners like Stevie Wonder, Green Day and The Killers announced to perform at the concert on the last day of the week-long event.

The full agenda has been released for the fest and it is a star-studded affair.

Forest Whitaker will join Rev. Al Sharpton with The Howard University Gospel Choir, Sir the Baptist, The String Orchestra of Brooklyn, Dr. Chelsea Jackson Roberts and more on Sunday, Sept. 17 at the Breaking the Silence: Beyond the Dream event.

Andra Day will perform at the Global Citizen & Cadillac in Concert on Tuesday, Sept. 19.

All of this and more leads to the big event on Saturday, Sept. 23. The Global Citizen Festival will take place with acts like The Lumineers, The Chainsmokers, Pharrell Williams, Big Sean, Alessia Cara, and more. For those interested, there will be a live simulcast of the concert broadcast on MSNBC and on Sept. 23.
