In celebration of Vogue‘s 125th anniversary, some of the magazine’s biggest stars are taking a look back at their first covers.

Remembering her 1986 spread, supermodel Cindy Crawford recalls, “When I first saw this cover, I was so excited.” However, when she went to purchase a few of the magazines, she remembers the cashier asking why she needed three. “I just wanted her to say, ‘It’s you on the cover!'” she says. “And she never did.”

Meanwhile, Kendall Jenner looks back on her 2016 September Vogue cover revealing, “The first time I saw the September issue was the little video we did with my family for Vogue, where we recreated ’16 Candles’ at my mom’s house. That was actually a genuine reaction at the end.”
