They’re known for their pop classics; now Maroon 5 have managed to impress once again, as they joined forces with SZA to release their brand new single “What Lovers Do”.
The collaboration is a follow-up to the band’s previous single “Cold” featuring Future, and frontman Adam Levine has already hinted that the band have been busy working on a new music video to go with the release.
With lyrics like “Are we too grown for games/Are we too grown to play around/Young enough to chase/But old enough to know better,” this is another track bound to go down an absolute storm with Maroon 5’s army of fans.
The group thrilled fans back in February when they unveiled their video for “Cold”, which saw Adam have a strange adventure after somebody slipped something into his drink.
Levine also appeared on Beats 1 on Wednesday with Zane Lowe and teased the band’s upcoming album. According to Levine, it’s coming in November and alongside SZA it will also feature Kendrick Lamar and Future, but there’s one feature he won’t give away but teases it is “amazing and beautiful.”
The band is still recording their album, which is still untitled, and Levine says they’re recording a song right now that is one of his favourites. “[We’re] doing a song right now one of my fave songs we’ve ever recorded. I’m so consumed with this stupid record I can’t listen to anything,” he teased.
The release comes after Adam Levine took to Twitter to blast this year’s MTV Video Music Awards, which took place in Los Angeles on Sunday night.
He ranted: “It’s always exciting to see how utterly horrible the VMAs will be. They really delivered so far this year. #HOLYF**K.”
“Julia Michaels gets cut off while she’s singing and Lorde gets to NOT sing her whole song.”
