“Thanks to your support of our Nutrish brands, we are able to donate $1 million today, through The Rachael Ray Foundation, to help support various animal welfare organizations who are actively working in Texas and Louisiana to care for animals displaced by Hurricane Harvey,” Ray wrote in a post on Facebook.

“$100,000 donations have been made to the SPCA of Texas and Austin Pets Alive!, who are already providing disaster relief to animals in need,” Ray shared.

According to the chef, her foundation will continue to work with the national and local organizations to assess the needs of those impacted and provide additional funds. “Thank you to all who are donating their time, effort, and money, as goodwill to our neighbors is most important during times like these,” she wrote.

Ray, of course, is a noted animal lover. She is the proud parent of her dog Isaboo, and for the past few years, she has organized the Santa Paws campaign to raise money for animal organizations across America.

In addition to Ray, other celebrities have reached out to help the victims of Hurricane Harvey. Miranda Lambert’s animal shelter foundation MuttNation has rescued over 70 dogs so far and Sandra Bullock donated $1 million to the American Red Cross.
