Taylor Swift has had everybody talking with her eagerly anticipated comeback track “Look What You Made Me Do,” so it’s no surprise the singer has managed to break more records as she bagged her fifth No.1 on the Billboard Hot 100 (dated September 16).
The 27-year-old has even managed to knock song of the summer Luis Fonsi and Daddy Yankee’s “Despacito” featuring Justin Bieber off the top spot, after it held onto the coveted position for an impressive 16 weeks; which a week ago tied the record for the most weeks spent at No.1 in the chart’s 59-year history.
According to Billboard, “Look What You Made Me Do” also has the highest number of weekly streams and sales out of any single released in 2017.
The latest Taylor news comes after she debuted the second single “Ready For It?” off her upcoming album “Reputation” – which is scheduled for release on November 10.
A snippet of the song premiered during Saturday’s college football game between Alabama and Florida State, with just one-minute of the impending single being played during the pre-game intro, before the full thing was later released.
Ahead of her new music’s grand unveiling, Taylor deleted everything off her social media pages, with the “Look What You Made Me Do” lyrics confirming that the old Taylor was, in fact, “dead”.
