James Hetfield is okay after taking a tumble on stage at Metallica’s Amsterdam concert Monday night.
While the rock band performed “Now That We’re Dead”, the frontman fell down a gap in Metallica’s custom stage.
Security guards quickly came to the singer’s rescue, and after all was okay Hetfield told the crowd, “I’m okay. My ego? Not so much,” he joked. “We’re fine. It hurt my feelings a little bit, maybe. But I can tell you about it now that it’s done.”
Like a champ, Hetfield got right back up and kept playing, even treating the audience to a performance of the classic “Am I Evil?” for the first time in two years.
Hetfield is no stranger to onstage injuries, in fact, in 1992 he received second-degree burns after a pyro stage effect was faulty.
Metallica is currently on tour promoting their latest album “Hardwired… to Self Destruct” and will play again at the Ziggo Dome in the Netherlands before heading to Paris.
