In the May issue of Women’s Health, Cobie Smulders makes a startling admission: she was diagnosed with ovarian cancer during season three of How I Met Your Mother.
“I had tumors on both ovaries,”; the 33-year-old says, “and the cancer had spread into my lymph nodes and surrounding tissues.”;
Over the following two years, Cobie underwent numerous surgeries to remove the cancerous tissue.
So what’s the prognosis? “I don’t think I’ll ever feel like I’m cancer-free,”; she admits. “Now that I’m five years out, I’m trying to think of it as a positive thing and what can I learn from it. And if I can create more awareness, I’ll do it.”;
