Most of us have posted a tweet we later regret, but Lena Dunham took it to a whole new level when she tweeted about her attraction to baseball players and found herself on the radar of a former MLB great who used social media to attempt a grand seduction of the “Girls” star.

Dunham started things off when she issued a tweet on Thursday, declaring she was “horny” for baseball players.

Her tweet caught the attention of Lenny Dykstra, a.k.a “Nails,” whose prowess on the diamond while in the Major Leagues (1985-’89 with the New York Mets, 1989-’96 with the Philadelphia Phillies) was equalled only by his massive scandals, including being court-ordered into rehab, declaring bankruptcy and spending three years in the slammer after pleading no contest to felony charges of grand theft auto and filing a false financial statement.

Dykstra immediately replied to Dunham’s tweet, asking her to send him a direct message, following that up with a video of Garth Brooks’ “If Tomorrow Never Comes”.

Dunham replied, telling Dykstra he was “making me laugh. I’m gonna have to read your wiki. This exchange is a real trip!”

Unbeknownst to Dunham, the trip was just starting; as listeners of “The Howard Stern Show” on Sirius XM know, Dykstra has become a frequent guest, prone to brag about his huge libido and claims of moonlighting as a high-priced gigolo with a “particular set of skills” having to do with the fact that he no longer has teeth. In fact, his relentless pursuit of Stern show sidekick Robin Quivers to let him demonstrate his prowess at that particular sexual act (she has continually refused) has become something of a running gag on the show.

Dunham, however, apparently knew none of this, leading to Dykstra’s attempt to impress her with video of his World Series win:

By now, Dunham had apparently gained a little knowledge about her new admirer, and replied that she had learned he was “a classic piece of s**t.”

At this point, Dunham could only admit that things had gotten “really f***ing weird” as she was being “simultaneously trolled & seduced” by Dykstra.

Which led to the following exchange:

Dunham tried to sign off. Dykstra wouldn’t let her, but she finally appeared to have put the whole thing to bed — literally.

Looks like Dunham grew tired of the advances, informing her followers that she blocked Dykstra.
