Country music fans are mourning the loss of Troy Gentry, with sources confirming the Montgomery Gentry star died in a helicopter crash on Friday.
The accident took place near Medford, New Jersey, where Montgomery Gentry was scheduled to perform.

According to LEX 18 News in Gentry’s hometown of Lexington, Kentucky, sources confirm Gentry and another individual lost their lives in the crash. Eddie Montgomery, the other half of the popular country duo, was reportedly not on board the helicopter.
According to sources, the crash occurred at approximately 1 p.m. local time; authorities are said to still be on the scene.
Gentry, 50, is survived by wife Angie and the couple’s two children.
