Re-teaming for the first time since 1990, Oscar-winner Helen Mirren and Honourary Oscar recipient Donald Sutherland are hitting the red carpet for their TIFF film “The Leisure Seeker”.
The pair star as an elderly couple who decide to not let their terminal illnesses stand in the way of one last adventure together. Packing up their Winnebago, appropriately titled “The Leisure Seeker”, the pair set off to scratch one more thing off their bucket lists, but find a comedy of errors along the way.

Between John’s (Sutherland) Alzheimer’s and Ella’s (Mirren) aggressive metastatic cancer, the pair soon come to realize what life without one anther would look like. Based on the novel by Michael Zadoorian the film, directed by Paolo Virzi, puts a spotlight on what life is like when you’re the primary caregiver for family members with grave illnesses.
