Patton Oswalt and other famous mental health activists called out a world class fighter for playing down depression.
Kickboxing world champion Andrew Tate, 30, was blasted online for saying “depression isn’t real” and “you will always be depressed if your life is depressing.”
Tate’s tweet was commented on over 18,000 times, retweeted more than 1,500 times and liked almost 5,000 times at the time of this writing. It quickly caught the attention of comedian Patton Oswalt and other mental health-conscious celebrities.
Stars from all corners of entertainment also chimed in, from supermodel Chrissy Teigen to author J.K. Rowling.
Oswalt, 48, has been very open about his own mental health problems in the past.
