Jimmy Kimmel Says Son Billy ‘Is Doing Well… Seems To Be Strong’

By Brent Furdyk.

Jimmy Kimmel and wife Molly McNearney attended an L.A. charity event on Saturday, accompanied by their three-year-old daughter Jane and son Billy, who was born in April with a serious heart issue that required immediate postnatal surgery.

During the event, Us Weekly caught up with Kimmel, who offered an update on how Billy is doing now that he’s almost five months old.

“Billy is doing well. He’s right there!” the “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” host explained while pointing out his son in a stroller. “He’s got to have another operation soon, but he’s doing well.”

Added Kimmel: “He seems to be strong. He pulls hair, that’s for sure!”

In early May, Kimmel opened up about Billy’s heart condition in his “JKL!” monologue, becoming teary-eyed as he explained his son’s condition.

“On Monday morning, Dr. Vaughn Starnes opened his chest and fixed one of the two defects in his heart,” Kimmel told viewers at the time. “He went in there with a scalpel and did some kind of magic that I couldn’t even begin to explain. He opened the valve, and the operation was a success. It was the longest three hours of my life.” Watch:
