Knowing that Archie Panjabi has already announced she’s leaving The Good Wife at the end of this season, viewers may have assumed that last night’s episode brought us our final glimpse of Kalinda, who seemingly made her exit after a kiss with Cary, one last call with Diane and a note left for Alicia.
However, the evidence suggests that we haven’t seen the last of Kalinda after all.
In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, series showrunners Robert and Michelle King say Kalinda’s story hasn’t wrapped up completely.
“We will see her,”; says Michelle King, although she doesn’t elaborate as to whether this might be in a flashback or flashforward.
However, adds her husband Robert King, the finale “answers a lot of questions regarding Kalinda, which I think there will be some mystery about. Has she truly left the show? Or are there still beats to be handled with, or story elements to be handled with her? So [the finale] answers the question of Kalinda for the year.”
There are only two more episodes of The Good Wife remaining this season, airing Sundays at 9 p.m. ET/PT on Global.
