Andrew Garfield and Claire Foy are opening up about their on-screen chemistry in the biographical drama “Breathe”.

Speaking with ET Canada‘s Sangita Patel at the premiere of their new film at this year’s Toronto International Film Festival, the 34-year-old Oscar nominee reveals that working with the 33-year-old “The Crown” star was a natural fit.

“It happened very organically and naturally,” Garfield says. “It’s a really, really brilliant idea of Jonathan [Cavendish] and Andy [Serkis] to cast Claire in the role. It was just their awareness that was the right choice that really kind of made it make sense. And I really do love Claire. It was a very easy, organic thing to create with her.”

Sharing similar sentiments, Foy adds, “As soon as we started working together, I’d just really felt like I’d known him forever. And I just love acting with him […] I just love being in scenes with him. I think he’s the most open, exciting actor there is, to be honest.”

Addressing the wide success of her hit Netflix series, “The Crown”, Foy, who portrays Queen Elizabeth II from the 1940s, says, “The fact that it was so well received, it feels to me to be the success of it. It’s been amazing that people have responded so well.”
