Canadian Stars Honoured With Nominations For Golden Maple Awards

The Los Angeles-based Academy of Canadians in Sports & Entertainment has just announced its nominees for the 2015 Golden Maple Awards, celebrating Canadians who are making a splash in TV series broadcast in the U.S.

Categories include Best Actor, Best Actress and Newcomer of the Year, in TV series that aired in the U.S. between July 1, 2014 and July 1, 2015. The membership of the ACSE-LA will vote to determine the winners in each category.

Nominees include stars of such homegrown hits as VikingsLost Girl and Rookie Blue, as well as Canadian actors appearing in such series as Silicon ValleyHannibal and Reign.  Vikings star Katheryn Winnick shared her feelings about the honour with us.

The Golden Maple Awards will be held, fittingly enough, on Canada Day. The venue and time of the ceremony has yet to be confirmed, and presenters and master of ceremony for the awards will be announced shortly.
