Janet Jackson’s Brother Claims Janet Was ‘A Prisoner In Her Own Home’ Before Divorce

According to Janet Jackson’s older brother Steven Randall “Randy” Jackson, Janet’s marriage to Wissam Al Mana was “an abusive situation.”

Randy chatted with People magazine about his sister’s ongoing divorce: “There’s a lot of pain. Janet’s been through a lot with her divorce. I’ve been through a lot, we all have.”

“It was quite an abusive situation,” the Jackson 5 star said. “It came on later in the relationship, verbal abuse and being [made to feel like] a prisoner in her own home. No pregnant woman needs to go through being called a b***h everyday. There were things like that. That’s what she went through.”

Janet and Al Mana, who welcomed son Eissa in January, have been in and out of court settling their divorce and custody battle.

In April, the “Rhythm Nation” singer announced their split on Twitter saying, “Yes, I separated from my husband. We are in court now and the rest is in God’s hands.”

While Randy claims the abuse was not physical, he still felt the need to help his sister out, “I told her, ‘You’ve got to move in with me or I’m going to go over there and there’s going to be hell,'” he said. “She was really pissed off. I told her, ‘I don’t care anymore. I’m tired of it. It’s too much.'”

As for now, “The abuse is still going on,” Randy said. “She has custody and he, of course, allowed her to bring the baby on tour, but it’s constant harassment.”

Randy finished off by explaining why he decided to speak out, “We don’t like to put our business out there but sometimes transparency helps you. The devil thrives in darkness. I’m just here supporting through this time.”
