Last month, photos emerged of “Titanic” co-stars Kate Winslet and Leonardo DiCaprio, wearing bathing suits while relaxing poolside in St. Tropez in the south of France. According to reports at the time, the pair were supposedly enjoying a vacation together.
In the photos (such as the one below), Winslet, 41, is wearing a neon pink bikini beneath a sheer shirt, while DiCaprio, 42, sports baggy swim trunks.
But were they really? Not according to Winslet, who explains that she and DiCaprio were in St. Tropez to participate in the annual fundraiser for his Leonardo DiCaprio Foundation, where they were part of a charity auction.
“We weren’t on vacation at all!” Winslet told E!. “Leo did his annual fundraiser for the Leonardo DiCaprio Foundation. He and I went together and we auctioned off dinner with Jack and Rose and actually raised $1.35 million. It was extraordinary.”
As Winslet reveals, the proceeds from the auction will be split between DiCaprio’s foundation and her own charity efforts, with the money to “go towards specific cancer patients who I’m helping, so that’s been amazing.”
And lest there be any lingering doubts about whether or not the two actually were vacationing together, she declares: “I’ve never been on a holiday with Leo!”
