Jennifer Lawrence was left furious as she lost out to Jimmy Fallon in an axe-throwing contest on “The Tonight Show” yesterday evening.
The 27-year-old is known to poke fun at herself during interviews and last night was no different, as she jokingly destroyed “The Tonight Show” set after Fallon managed to score top points by successfully aiming the axe at the wooden cowboy’s hat.
Lawrence, who said that she’d recently tried the sport for the first time, failed to get any of the axes to stick to the board.
The actress has been hard at work promoting her latest film “mother!”. She attended the Toronto International Film Festival 2017 premiere over the weekend where she gushed about filmmaker boyfriend Darren Aronofsky.
She said of her 48-year-old beau: “He’s just brilliant. Incredibly instinctual. His point of view, his artistic uniqueness.”
Lawrence added of her latest movie, which sees a couple’s relationship be tested when uninvited guests arrive at their home: “It was dark. I mean, if anybody sees the movie, they’ll understand. I had to go to a place nobody should go.
“If I had to stay in, like, a torturing feeling or state of mind, I wouldn’t want to be an actor. I would just go do something else.”
Lawrence also caused a stir recently as she distracted actor Domhnall Gleeson on the “mother!” London premiere red carpet, with fans immediately taking to Twitter to gush over Gleeson’s fangirling.
“Oh, Jennifer Lawrence must be here,” Gleeson told a reporter before bursting into a high-pitch scream.
“[She’s] the reason [fans are going crazy.]”
