Heidi Klum and her boyfriend Vito Schnabel are going their separate ways, according to People.
A source reportedly told the outlet the couple, who have been dating for just over three and a half years, are taking time apart due to their distant living situations and busy schedules.
“They’re taking time apart right now,” the source previously told People. “Things have been difficult recently, they live on opposite coasts. And it’s the start of the school year and Heidi has to concentrate on the kids.”
The German supermodel confirmed the break-up in a recent statement to the publication. “I believe that it is important to take time to pause and reflect,” Klum said. “She’s flying free,” a source added.
Back in June, Schnabel, 31, a contemporary art dealer based in New York City, came under fire after pictures surfaced of him allegedly kissing another woman in London. At the time, Schnabel told Entertainment Tonight that the claims made against him were “a misinterpretation.”
Klum, 44, who shares three children, son Henry, 12, son Johan, 10, and daughter Lou, 7, with Seal, in addition to daughter Leni, 13, from a previous relationship, began dating Schnabel back in February 2014, two years after she and Seal separated.
The supermodel, who recently launched a clothing line in collaboration with German superstore Lidl at New York Fashion Week, will be making an appearance at this Sunday’s Emmys with a nomination for outstanding reality-competition program for “Project Runway”.
