Rosie O’Donnell Releases Statement On Death Of Her Ex-Wife Michelle Rounds

Rosie O’Donnell’s ex-wife, Michelle Rounds, “died unexpectedly” on Monday, Sept. 11 at 46-years-old.

ET Canada can confirm Rounds was found dead in her home earlier this week. Her obituary on Carpenter’s Funeral Home’s website reads: “She is survived by her wife: Krista Monteleone of Windermere, FL; loving parents: Roger and Gayla Rounds of Addison; brother: Tad (Janet) Rounds of Bath; two daughters; one stepson; grandmother: June Rounds of Addison; two nephews; her favorite aunt: Rosie (Larry) Spencer of Addison, and many aunts, uncles and cousins that she loved very much.”

The obit continues: “Michelle’s family will hold a private memorial service. There will be no public services.”

Sources allegedly told TMZ the cause of death was suicide.

O’Donnell paid respects to her ex-wife in a statement to ET Canada: “I am saddened to hear about this terrible tragedy. Mental illness is a very serious issue affecting many families. My thoughts and prayers go out to Michelle’s family, her wife Krista, and their child.”

O’Donnell and Rounds married in June 2012 and adopted a daughter, Dakota, in Jan. 2013 – before divorcing in March 2016.

Rounds’ mom shared her thoughts on social media. “If anyone would like to give to the National Suicide Prevention it would also be greatly appreciated,” she posted. “There are so many out there in this world that have demons that they think suicide is the only way out.”

O’Donnell and Rounds’ adopted daughter, Dakota, is 4-years-old.
