Canadian Margaret Atwood Front And Centre As ‘The Handmaid’s Tale’ Wins Outstanding Drama At Emmy Awards!

Canadian icon Margaret Atwood received a standing ovation as she closed out the 2017 Emmys with “The Handmaid’s Tale” winning Outstanding Drama Series.

The poet, novelist and Canada’s Walk of Fame recipient was front and centre as the Toronto-shot series, based on her dystopian novel of the same name, was recognized.

It was a significant night for Atwood, 77, with “The Handmaid’s Tale” winning multiple awards across the show’s seven nominations. Aside from Outstanding Drama, the critically beloved series was recognized for Outstanding Actress (Elisabeth Moss), Outstanding Supporting Actress (Ann Dowd), plus Outstanding Directing and Outstanding Writing.

Atwood clearly enjoyed her time at the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles, posting pictures of her journey to social media.
