Jackie Hoffman seems like she really, really wanted to win Best Supporting Actress for a Limited Series or Movie at the 2017 Primetime Emmy Awards.
The “Feud” star was nominated for the award alongside Laura Dern, Judy Davis, Regina King, Michelle Pfeiffer and Shailene Woodley. When presenters Riz Ahmed and Issa Rae announced Dern as the winner, most nominees were happy for their fellow actress — except for one person.
Hoffman, 56, could be visibly – and jokingly – seen yelling “Damn it! Damn it!” on camera as Dern made her way out of her chair to accept her Emmy Award.
The “Feud” actress, who received her first Emmy nomination this year, took to Twitter after the incident. Many users online poked fun at Hoffman’s outburst, which led to a series of satirical tweets from the actress.
In two other tweets, Hoffman brought up Nazis and a “child porn ring.”
But instead of being in on the joke, many media outlets took Hoffman’s reaction at face value, and reported that she was genuinely annoyed by her loss.
