Reese Witherspoon And ‘Big Little Lies’ Lit Up Social Media During The Emmys

With the stars of “Big Little Lies” taking home multiple awards during Sunday night’s 69th Primetime Emmy Awards, fans of the show couldn’t keep quiet on social media.

According to an official recap of the night from Instagram, Reese Witherspoon held the most-viewed Instagram Story, while HBO’s “Big Little Lies” was named the most buzzed about show on Instagram, based on the total global number of Instagram mentions.

When it came to the most buzzed about actors on Instagram, Witherspoon’s co-star, Nicole Kidman, held the top spot, followed by “Stranger Things” star Millie Bobby Brown, Viola Davis and Donald Glover, who took home two awards, as well as Global’sSNL” star Kate McKinnon.

During the show, Instagram’s most-liked photo was Liev Schreiber’s son posing with Millie Bobby Brown, while Melissa McCarthy got the most likes at the show’s end, sharing a selfie with her husband in the car, followed by Oprah Winfrey’s first look reveal.

Meanwhile, Twitter made particular mention of Outstanding Drama Series winner, “The Handmaid’s Tale”, and Best Lead Actress in a Drama Series winner, Elisabeth Moss, which both marked the top two moments that drove the most tweets throughout the night.

Other hotly tweeted about moments, included Sterling K. Brown’s win for Best Lead Actor in a Drama Series, “Black Mirror: San Junipero” winning Outstanding Television Movie and Ann Dowd winning Best Supporting Actress in a Drama Series.

The most discussed stars that wowed on the red carpet included, Millie Bobby Brown and Nicole Kidman, who both wore Calvin Klein by Appointment dresses, as well as Viola Davis, Issa Rae and Shailene Woodley, who amazed in a green Ralph Lauren number.
