Carla Bruni, Claudia Schiffer, Naomi Campbell, Cindy Crawford and Helena Christensen made a triumphant return to fashion by closing Versace’s Milan Fashion Week show.

In fact, there could be no better way to honour late designer Gianni Versace than to bring back five of his original supermodels at the show that marked the 20th anniversary of his death.

The late designer’s sister, Donatella Versace, showcased the epic finale as the fab five took to the catwalk as George Michael’s “Freedom” played.

The finale was a tribute to Gianni’s iconic 1991 show, at which four supermodels walked arm-in-arm while Michael (who passed away on Christmas Day 2016) sat in the front row.

“But today I am not sad. I am happy that after 20 years I can finally do this with a smile on my face,” Donatella said at the show. “They have a green room each, but they are running in and out of each other’s rooms all day. And because they walk the runway together they are arguing about who gets to go in the middle, just like the old days.”

Kendall Jenner, Gigi and Bella Hadid, and Crawford’s daughter, Kaia Gerber, walked Spring Versace’s line earlier in the show.
