The first movie was a hit and now the entire Pitch Perfect cast is back for the sequel! This time, The Barden Bellas make a splash from the movie’s very first frame.
ET Canada’s Matte Babel caught up with Rebel Wilson and Adam DeVine this week for a sneak peek into Pitch Perfect‘s shocking return to the big screen. “I came in like a wrecking ball – falls rips – audience screams – she has no underwear on. Oh my god!” Wilson revealed about the film’s Miley Cyrus-inspired kickoff. “It’s quite a flashy opening to this movie.”;
In Pitch Perfect 2, the Bellas are fighting hard to win the a cappella world championships. Original castmember Elizabeth Banks is back as announcer Gail and she’ll also be lending her support behind the camera.
But when talk turned to their new director, things got a little ugly. “Sometimes [Elizabeth would] hit us,” Wilson joked. Adam agreed, telling Babel, “well verbally she was abusive definitely and also physically. So physically and verbally abusive, but besides that a great director.”
Despite a few bumps and bruises, the pair had nothing but kind words to share about the Hunger Games actress. “I think it was cool cause she is an actress herself and she knows how to talk with actors,” DeVine added.
With great reviews coming in already, Rebel and DeVine are already contemplating their return for many more films. “I’m signed on for 18,” Wilson joked. “I’ll be doing this when I’m 80.”
