Meghan Markle’s ex-husband, Trevor Engelson, is apparently using his real life as inspiration.
Fox gave a put pilot commitment to a new half-hour single-camera comedy written and executive produced by Danny Zuker and produced by Melvin Mar, Jake Kasdan, Christine Gernon, Dan Farah and Engelson, ET confirms.
As first reported by Deadline, the show’s logline is as follows: “Divorce is hard. Sharing custody is harder. Sharing custody with the British Royal family in the unforgiving spotlight of London’s tabloid media is next level.”
While the show is fictional, Markle began dating Prince Harry after divorcing Engelson. The two have no kids together, but the story does share some similarities with Engelson’s life.
Earlier this month, Markle opened up for the very first time about her romance with Prince Harry.
“I can tell you that at the end of the day I think it’s really simple. We’re two people who are really happy and in love. We were very quietly dating for about six months before it became news,” the 36-year-old Suits star told Vanity Fair. “And I was working during that whole time, and the only thing that changed was people’s perception. Nothing about me changed. I’m still the same person that I am, and I’ve never defined myself by my relationship.”
