Singer Perrie Edwards of Little Mix was forced to pull out of a Las Vegas show on Saturday after she was rushed to hospital, with The Sun reporting she was suffering from a “gastric problem.”
A spokesman for the band confirmed that Edwards was hospitalized and was unable to join the rest of the group for their performance at the 2017 HeartRadio Music Festival in Vegas, with the remaining members of Little Mix — Jade Thirwall, Leigh-Anne Pinnock and Jesy Nelson — taking the stage as a trio.
“Perrie was taken ill overnight and had to go to hospital with a gastric problem,” a rep for Little Mix told MailOnline. “She saw a doctor and was sadly unable to perform.”
Yet the show must go on, and the rest of the group gave it their all during Saturday’s performance.
On Monday, Edwards reached out to fans to explain what happened in a tweet from the group’s Twitter account.
Revealing that she’s “on the mend,” Edwards doesn’t get into specifics about the ailment that sidelined her, but admits that “sometimes you have to listen to those who know best and I wasn’t fit to perform.”
