The Hollywood Reporter is shedding light on Tinseltown’s largest and smallest salaries.
From famous faces to film crews, THR’s “Hollywood’s Salary Report” is out following a “survey of salary ranges” and “perk packages.”
It should come as no surprise that big screen regulars such as Jennifer Lawrence, — who’ll receive $20 million for her upcoming role in “Red Sparrow” — Will Smith and Dwayne Johnson lead the industry as the highest-paid stars.
On the small screen, “The Big Bang Theory”’s Jim Parsons and Johnny Galecki out-earned their peers with their $900,000 per episode.
Not far behind is “House of Cards” star Kevin Spacey, who collects $500,000 for every episode of the Netflix political drama.
Stars who fall into lower pay brackets include former “Harry Potter” actress Emma Watson, who earned $3 million for her performance in the “Beauty and the Beast” reboot. Watson, however, shouldn’t feel resentment toward the mega-earner Lawrence. Afterall, the Brit raked in $20 million after the classic remake’s international box office success.
The Oscar-nominated and Golden Globe winner Jessica Chastain, meanwhile, brought in significantly less for her performance in “Woman Walks Ahead”, earning her $700,000.

What may come as a surprise to moviegoers is Gal Gadot’s relatively paltry salary for the blockbuster “Wonder Woman”. The relative newcomer earned only $150,000 for fronting a movie that generated over $800 million in theatres.
Behind the camera, fresh-faced directors can expect to make $500,000 for their first big-budget projects, but when you’ve paid your dues like Ridley Scott or Patty Jenkins, per movie salaries range anywhere from $1 to $12 million depending on the film’s projected revenue.
As for those working in the shadows of Hollywood’s biggest stars, THR reports that microphone boom operators earn between $37,000 to $120,000 per year; well-known makeup artists rake in a maximum of $124,000 per year; and salaries of camera operators vary from $25 per hour to $154,000 per year when working on the biggest films around.
