Fans haven’t heard any new music from Avril Lavigne since her self-titled “Avril Lavigne” album back in 2013, but Friday brought us a new track featuring the Canadian rocker.
However, this isn’t the long-gestating album she’s been teasing for awhile; rather, Lavigne lends her vocals to a new song from Grey, the electronic music duo consisting of brothers Kyle and Michael Trewartha.
In the tune — titled “Wings Clipped” — the “Sk8r Boi” singer’s distinctive vocals kick things off, with Grey also joined on the song by singer Anthony Green.
“Wings Clipped” is one of five songs on Grey’s debut EP, “Chameleon”, and the Trewartha brothers issued a statement about the EP.
“Creating our debut ep, ‘Chameleon’, was really challenging, but the kind of challenge you enjoy every minute of,” the siblings said in a statement. “We can be super picky about every aspect of a song and want everything to be perfect so there is a lot of thought going into each little section from top to bottom. We’re so excited to finally share chameleon with you and hope you enjoy it!”
Meanwhile, a new album from Lavigne is expected very soon, and she took to Twitter back in August to thank fans for their patience while she works to complete it. “It will be here before you know it!!” Lavigne wrote.
