Lady Gaga just received an honour no one else has received before: being named the first-ever Honourary Miss Gay America.
Michael Dutzer, the owner of the pageant, posted a photo of himself and Gaga on Instagram after presenting the singer with the honour.
“First we would like to wish @ladygaga the best as she recovers from an injury,” he writes. “On Sept. 10 we presented Lady Gaga with a Miss Gay American crown, making her the first honourary Miss Gay America,” he wrote. “We love Gaga for all she’s done for the LGBTQ community, especially our youth, so we thought this would be a great way to honour her for championing self-acceptance diversity and the beauty in everyone’s mirror.”
He added: “Along with the crown, we made a donation to the @BTWFoundation on behald of the Miss Gay America organization.”
Gaga recently had to cancel the European leg of her “Joanne” tour due to her chronic pain.
