Jerry Seinfeld Changes Tune On Bill Cosby Thanks To Stephen Colbert

By Shakiel Mahjouri.

Jerry Seinfeld has long been able to separate Bill Cosby the man from Bill Cosby the comedian, until he met Stephen Colbert.

Seinfeld, 63, sat down with Colbert on Friday’s “The Late Show”. The conversation started with Seinfeld’s thoughts on Cosby and his alleged sexual assault crimes, but ended on a totally different note.

“Can you still listen to his comedy? Colbert asked the “Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee” star. “Oh, yeah,” Seinfeld replied before asking Colbert, “You can’t separate it? I know, it’s tragic. But there’s a lot of comedy in tragedy… there’s a lot of people that have tragic lives.”

Seinfeld had previously told “Norm MacDonald Live” how, “I think Bill Cosby’s the biggest comedian of all time. I don’t think anyone will ever match his production and quality of material.”

The show took a commercial break, but Colbert managed to change Seinfeld’s mind by the time the segment came back on air. “You know what I realized? In the commercial, we were just talking about Cosby and I realized, you know what? I can’t just separate it either,” Seinfeld revealed.

“Now that you said it, and I thought about it — and I haven’t listened to any of that stuff — I realized, it would bother me and I don’t think I could.”
