The Invictus Games came to a close on Saturday, with Prince Harry celebrating a week of inspirational athletic competition during the closing ceremonies in Toronto’s Air Canada Centre.
As People reports, the prince took in the spectacle from a VIP box while watching performers Bruce Springsteen, Bryan Adams, Kelly Clarkson, Coeur de pirate and Bachman & Turner (with, apparently, no Overdrive).
Also in attendance was Meghan Markle, who was not situated with her royal beau but was seated in the stands.
Markle wasn’t alone, however, having brought a date to the ceremony: her mother, Doria Radlan.
During the closing ceremonies, Harry addressed the crowd, congratulating the athletes for the effort put forward during the past week.
For royal-watchers, however, the highlight of the 2017 Invictus Games came on Monday when Harry and the “Suits” star sat together while watching a wheelchair tennis match, even allowing themselves to be photographed while holding hands.
Did Markle’s mother attend the event in order to meet her potential future son-in-law? Is an engagement announcement around the corner? Will we have another royal wedding to look forward to? Stay tuned…
