The first trailer for director Jon M. Chu’s “Jem and the Holograms” movie is here.

The film follows four aspiring musicians who search to find their own voice with talents that are too special to keep hidden.

The film stars Aubrey Peeples as Jem, Stefanie Scott as Kimber, Aurora Perrineau as Shana, Hayley Kiyoko as Aja and Ryan Guzman as Rio.

The musical adventure film also stars Molly Ringwald and Juliette Lewis cast in unrevealed roles.

The original ’80s TV series created by Christy Marx, was a joint collaboration by Hasbro, Marvel and Sunbow Productions that began airing in 1985 and ran for three seasons. The plot was based on a young women whose alter ego – helped by a holographic computer – was able to perform rock shows with her friends.
