‘Fast And Furious’ Feud Between Tyrese Gibson And Dwayne Johnson Heats Up – Again

Tyrese Gibson is fuelling the flames of his feud with Dwayne Johnson. This time, Gibson blames his former co-star for delaying production on the next chapter in the “Fast And Furious” franchise.

Gibson is ticked off the film has been pushed back a year to 2020, putting the blame squarely on Johnson. In an Instagram post, he blasts the actor writing, “#PSA Congratulations to @TheRock and your brother in law aka 7 bucks producing partner @hhgarcia41 for making the fast and the furious franchise about YOU – And like you, DJ even if they call I will not be deleting this post.”

He continues, taking shots at Johnson’s summer box office flop, “Baywatch”.  “See you in 2020 April #FastFamily right? Nah….. it’s about #TeamDewayne #3yrs will it be worth the wait? #NoShaw just Hobbs will this be another #BayWatch? Guys guys just relax I’m just a passionate film critic,” he posts along with an image announcing the film’s new release date of April 10, 2020.

Vin Diesel also seemingly jumped in with a cryptic Instagram post featuring a photo of himself with Paul Walker and Gibson and the word “Brotherhood” in the message underneath.

Diesel posted the photo only a few hours after news broke that Johnson and Jason Statham will star in a “Fast and Furious” spin-off film to be released Jul. 26, 2019, and that the release of “Furious 9” has been delayed to 2020.

Last year, Gibson tried to put rumours of unrest to bed, writing about his co-star: “DJ happens to be one of the most humble, down to earth and professional people I’ve ever worked with and more importantly he’s my brother we have NEVER had a problem and will never have a problem.”

Now a year later, Gibson is back to being furious, taking shots at Johnson and the high-octane “Fast And Furious” spin-off that he’s not involved with.

This is just the latest in a string of attacks Gibson has launched on Johnson via Instagram. Last month he posted a photo of the two of them together, calling out Johnson for not returning his text messages.

He later posted a lenghty comment on one of Johnson’s posts, writing, “If you move forward with that #Hobbs Movie you will have purposely ignored the heart to heart moment we had in my sprinter — I don’t wanna hear from you until you remember what we talked about — I’m on your timeline cause you’re not responding to my text messages — #FastFamily is just that a family……. We don’t fly solo.”

After being rebuffed by The Rock, Gibson posted a lengthier statement in a now-deleted post.

“I have never and will never have a problem with this major movie star he’s my brother…. I repeat ever……. bro just being honest I didn’t like Bay Watch lol – but I did rent out 2 full theaters and take a bunch of kids with my daughter from her #PrivateSchool to support Moana!!!! ( I was surprised you could sing so well )…. oh s***!!” Gibson wrote, according to TooFab.

“I’m simply trying to reach him cause he won’t call me back about this solo #HobbsMovie I want you to shoot it just not right now cause the #Fast9 release date has already been announced and we can’t let our loyal fans #FastFamily or our loyal fast and furious FANS down on any level from pushing the date. I’m doing this only on behalf of our families so we keep them all in private school…… God bless you good brother!!!! I never ever go public with private family issues…. Once you hit me back I will delete every post,” he added.

Gibson is currently embroiled in a custody battle and fighting child abuse claims from his ex-wife, Norma. Despite his claims to keep family issues private, he took to Instagram to address his ex’s claims.

All I wanna do is co/parent nothing else…… Please…. Stick and stones may break my bones but words will never hurt…… I've only prayed that your heart heals and we live our lives separately and peacefully on behalf of our daughter…… There's someone out here for everybody – Norma I know you can see this, I'm sorry I got re-married, I'm sorry we didn't work out…… Sometimes you get married and have kids and things just don't work out, but I have NEVER wished harm on you……. But I see the attacks just won't stop so I believe this too will pass and God and the courts will reveal the truth….. I want you to know I still love you and wish you the best in all that you're looking to do… I just simply wanna co-parent and raise Shayla to be a respectful, decent, smart angel that I know she is… Paint your picture but God knows the truth…… if I was a bad dad I wouldn't of went from 80/20 to 70/30 to 60/40 to 50/50 custody in my favor…… All of the honorable fathers and parents out here keep fighting the good fight you may embarrassed at times but in the end the kids will always run into the arms of the ones who really has their backs in a great father not because I'm famous with money but because I am – that's my story and I'm sticking to it…. More truths coming soon……. Child custody family issues are the worst…….

Johnson and The Hollywood Reporter have since confirmed a “Fast And Furious” spin-off is coming in 2019, co-starring Jason Statham.

Johnson responded the THR’s tweet writing, “My goal from day one was to come in and create an exciting/fun character for the fans, elevate the franchise and build it out.”

Tyrese issued a catty response:

Tyrese continued to troll The Rock by replying to another of his tweets.

Tyrese followed that up by firing another shot at his co-star.

THR reports “Fast 9″‘s pushback is due to a directorial mix-up, not related to the untitled spin-off.

Chris Morgan will return to direct the new film since taking on 2006’s “Toyko Drift”. The flick will focus on Luke Hobbs (Johnson) and Deckard Shaw (Statham).
