Fans of “Real Housewives of Atlanta” breakout star Kim Zolciak-Biermann are gearing up for a new season of her reality spinoff “Don’t Be Tardy…”, which debuts its sixth season Friday, Oct. 6 at 8 p.m. ET/PT on Slice.
To get some scoop on the new season, ET Canada spoke with Kim’s daughter, Brielle Biermann, about what we can expect to see from her in the upcoming episodes.
“You’ll see me and my boyfriend (baseball player Michael Kopech), and Kroy and my mom discussing me moving out, or moving in with Michael,” she reveals. “You’ll kind of see a change of heart in the direction of what I want to do with my life, and things like that.”
At age 20, Brielle is a reality show veteran who first appeared on camera at age 10, and she opens up about what it was like to literally grow up on reality television.
“You actually get to see either my 10th or 11th birthday in one of the first few episodes [of ‘Real Housewives of Atlanta’,” she explains. “That just goes to show how long I’ve actually been on TV.”
She admits that back then she wasn’t all that aware of her mother’s growing fame from “RHOA”. “I was so young, I didn’t know there was drama going on or that we were on TV, or that my mom was becoming famous or whatever it was,” she says.
“I seriously wonder if my brothers [Kane, 3; Kash, 5; and Kroy Jr., 6] understand that they’re, like, famous,” she says. “I just don’t think they get it. I can’t wait to ask them when they’re older and just see what went on with them, because I don’t think I realized what was really going on until I was in eighth grade or so, until I was 13 or 14, and people were like, ‘Hey, I saw you on TV last night.’ I mean, I knew I was on TV but I didn’t think it was a big deal. I think growing up in Atlanta keeps you super humble because it’s not like Hollywood, where there’s paparazzi or people are coming up to you all the time asking for pictures or autographs.”
While Brielle may not have been caught up in the drama when she was young, she waded knee-deep into it earlier this year when she and her mother were involved in an altercation with “RHOA” star Kenya Moore during a party hosted by NeNe Leakes. Brielle made headlines when she took to Twitter to blast Kenya as a “dumb ugly evil b**ch.”
Asked about what happened, she admits, “I don’t really know what to say. She’s just really irrelevant to me. I’m not even prepared for this question, because I just don’t care about her. But I just wanna say she’s like a really evil person, that’s all. I just don’t like her. She knows which buttons to push on certain people, and I think that you should never bring somebody else’s kids into the situation… but you’ll see what happens on ‘Real Housewives of Atlanta’. I think that airs exactly a month after our show.”
Like most 20-year-olds, Brielle has been soul-searching and trying to figure out what she wants to do with her life; unlike your average 20-year-old, however, she’s a social-media superstar with more than a million followers on Instagram. So what’s her secret?
“I don’t really have a secret,” she says. “I don’t know what it is. I don’t even have a really cool esthetic. I was thinking of deleting every single picture on there and starting fresh, because I kind of just post whatever I want to post… it’s kind of just random.”
Social media, she adds, “is a different way to connect with people. Maybe that’s why I have a million followers, because I respond to the fans when they ask questions… it’s just a more personal way to connect with everybody, and I think that’s how people’s fan bases grow.”
You can see more of Brielle and her always-fascinating family when the sixth season of “Don’t Be Tardy…” kicks off on Friday, Oct. 6 at 8 p.m. ET/PT on Slice. In the meantime, check out this sneak peek at the new season:
