Harvey Weinstein has been terminated from the company named after him and his brother.
The Weinstein Company (TWC), a mini-major film studio, fired the movie executive following multiple sexual harassment allegations levied against him.
“In light of new information about misconduct by Harvey Weinstein that has emerged in the past few days,” read a statement from TWC’s board of directors on Sunday.
The statement continues: “The directors of The Weinstein Company… have determined, and have informed Harvey Weinstein, that his employment with The Weinstein Company is terminated, effective immediately.”
Weinstein’s termination follows an “indefinite leave of absence” forced on the producer in light of the accusations.
The film executive was first accused on Oct. 5 of sexual harassment by several women.
