Donald Trump Jr. issued a social media missive that backfired spectacularly when he tweeted Jimmy Kimmel about his thoughts on Harvey Weinstein, chiding him that he would now have somebody else to mock in his late-night monologues other than his dad.
Not only did Kimmel zing him back on social media, he also addressed “DJTJ” (Kimmel’s nickname for the president’s eldest son) in a recent “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” monologue.
“People are pointing to the fact that Harvey Weinstein was a Clinton supporter. I’m not defending Hillary Clinton. The fact is, her campaign did take money from what turned out to be a high-profile man who’s been accused of sexual harassment multiple times,” said Kimmel.
“And not just one of them, by the way. She took money from two of them: Harvey Weinstein and Donald Trump, who donated to Hillary’s campaign in 2008. So, anyway, note to DJTJ, next time you’re defending your father and you think it’s a good idea to draw a comparison between him and a freshly accused sexual predator? Don’t. It doesn’t help. It really doesn’t.”
Seth Rogen — no stranger to getting into it on Twitter with “DJTJ” — managing to send him a DM earlier this year asking him to encourage his dad to step down from the presidency and “go back to just being a guy on TV.”
On Thursday, Rogen once again slid into Trump Jr.’s DMs, this time to remind him that the president has been accused of sexual assault by several women, and asked when he was planning to denounce his dad.
“Hey dude! See you’re going pretty hard at us ‘Hollywood’ types. I agree Harvey Weinstein is a piece of s**t and people should speak against him. But… Are you aware your father has been accused of sexual harassment by several women and even admitted to sexual assault on tape? Maybe you should denounce that?” tweeted Rogen.
“Just a thought man! Have a good one!” and signed off with a P.S. referring to Jr.’s love of big-game hunting.
“Have fun shooting innocent animals!” Rogen declared.
