Donna Karan is taking back her words and apologizing for defending Harvey Weinstein last week.

The 69-year-old DKNY designer caused outrage when, in a Daily Mail interview, she referred to the Hollywood producer as “wonderful” and questioned whether women may have been “asking for it” with the way they dress.

Karan released a new statement to The Hollywood Reporter saying that Weinstein’s alleged harassment and assault is “unconscionable and unforgivable.”

“[Those] words do not represent who I am, what I believe or what I have represented throughout my career,” Karan said, adding that she is “sorry for saying something I did not mean” and that she hoped her “track record proves who I am.”

“To the women who have shared their personal stories of sexual harassment and to those who have been abused and have not yet told tell their story,” Karan said, “I stand by you… as your friend, your sister and your supporter. You are courageous. Beautiful. And I admire you.”

“I apologize for my comments that gave the impression that I feel any other way about any man who disrespects, harasses or abuses any woman,” she concluded.
