Carrie Fisher knew exactly how to stand up to Hollywood producers who mistreated women.
On a radio morning show in Tucson, Ariz., Fisher’s friend Heather Ross told a story about how the late actress delivered a cow tongue with a note to an “Oscar-winning producer” who had assaulted Ross.
“He picked me up in Westwood and within two minutes… he pulls the car over… he reaches over and grabs the handle of the chair – the passenger seat – and flips me backwards and all of a sudden he is on top of me,” Ross said. “He has his right hand that was busy, and his left hand was on my chest by neck holding me down.”
“It happened literally within seconds. I mean, it was so fast that I was thinking there’s no way that this is happening right now,” Ross added. “And then he said, ‘You’ll never make a movie in my town and get the F out of my car,’ and I literally ran, because I didn’t know what this guy was going to do with me.”
When Ross told Fisher about the incident, she personally delivered a package to the producer. “It was a cow tongue from Jerry’s Famous Deli with a note that said, ‘If you ever touch my darling Heather or any other woman again, the next delivery will be something of yours in a much smaller box.'”
“That’s just how she was, and I miss her dearly. She stood up for people,” Ross said.
