Jennifer Lawrence Delivers Moving Sexual Harassment Speech, Admits She Was Forced To Do ‘Naked Lineup’ And Told To Lose Weight

Jennifer Lawrence joined a host of actresses to take a stand against sexual harassment amid the Harvey Weinstein scandal at Monday night’s Elle Women in Hollywood event.

During the star-studded evening, Lawrence, 27, opened up about having to strip naked in a lineup, where she was told that she was fat and had to lose weight.

“When I was much younger and starting out, I was told by producers of a film to lose 15 pounds in two weeks,” Lawrence admitted.

“During this time a female producer had me do a nude lineup with about five women who were much, much, thinner than me. We are stood side-by-side with only tape on covering our privates.”

“After that degrading and humiliating lineup, the female producer told me I should use the naked photos of myself as inspiration for my diet.” Lawrence then told another producer that she thought the weight-loss demands were not appropriate. “He said he didn’t know why everyone thought I was so fat, he thought I was ‘perfectly f***able.'”

The actress said she felt “trapped” by the whole experience because she thought she had to do certain things for the sake of her career.

“I’m still learning that I don’t have to smile when a man makes me uncomfortable,” she continued. “Every human being should have the power to be treated with respect because they’re human.”

As the shocking Weinstein news emerged this month, Lawrence spoke out:

“I was deeply disturbed to hear the news about Harvey Weinstein’s behavior. I worked with Harvey five years ago and I did not experience any form of harassment personally, nor did I know about any of these allegations. This kind of abuse is inexcusable and absolutely upsetting,” she told PEOPLE.

The “mother!” star continued: “My heart goes out to all of the women affected by these gross actions. And I want to thank them for their bravery to come forward.”

Lawrence is just one of a long line of celebrities who have voiced their opinions on the Weinstein exposé.

Reese Witherspoon, 41, also spoke out at Monday night’s event to say that she was sexually assaulted by a director at just 16.

She explained: “This has been a really hard week for women in Hollywood, for women all over the world, and a lot of situations and a lot of industries are forced to remember and relive a lot of ugly truths.”
