In its first season, Lifetime’s “UnREAL” brought viewers behind the scenes of a “Bachelor”-like reality show called “Everlasting”, with producer Rachel Goldberg (Shiri Appleby) and showrunner Quinn King (Constance Zimmer) presiding over the shambolic shenanigans that viewers don’t see as this televised love story played out.
In the second season, “Everlasting” did something the real-life “Bachelor” has yet to do by casting an African-American as its lead, and a new trailer for the upcoming third season shows “UnREAL” taking on “The Bachelorette” with the faux show’s first “Suitress” (Caitlin FitzGerald of “Masters of Sex”).
The new “Everlasting” star’s gender isn’t the only difference between her and past suitors — as Rachel points out in the trailer, “She’s smart. We can’t handle her the same way.”
The results of this new direction for “Everlasting” will be seen when the third season of “UnREAL” premieres on Feb. 26, 2018 on Lifetime Canada, while production on the fourth season is scheduled to begin in Vancouver later this month.
