Ivanka Trump went through a “punk phase?”
Believe it or not, that’s what we learned from self-proclaimed “First Lady” Ivana Trump‘s new book, Raising Trump, in which daughter Ivanka writes a “guest passage” revealing an adolescent anecdote about the time she decided to dye her hair blue.
“During my punk phase in the nineties, I was really into Nirvana. My wardrobe consisted of ripped corduroy jeans and flannel shirts,” writes Trump in the book, reports People.
“One day after school, I dyed my hair blue. Mom wasn’t a fan of this decision,” she wrote. “She took one look at me and immediately went out to the nearest drugstore to buy a $10 box of Nice’n Easy. That night, she forced me to dye my hair back to blond. The colour she picked out was actually three shades lighter than my natural colour… and I have never looked back!”
However, the First Daughter’s claim of going through a teenage “punk phase” was greeted dubiously on Twitter by those questioning her punk-rock cred:
