You’re not a true pop star until you’ve had a high profile celebrity beef and for Pink that happened in the early 2000s when she feuded with Christina Aguilera, a rivalry that almost ended up in a fistfight.
The “What About Us” singer opened up about her past problems with the former “The Voice” coach when she appeared on “Watch What Happens Live.”
“We were super young and super new at the whole thing,” the 38-year-old pop star told host Andy Cohen during the show’s “Plead The Fifth” segment.
“I think I’m an alpha and she’s an alpha. And I’m used to taking my altercations physical and she’s used to having them verbal,” she continued. “We’re just very different. Women have to learn how to support each other. It’s not taught to us on the playground.”
When Cohen questioned whether Pink had tried to get physical with Christina, she revealed, “Actually, she swung on me in a club, which is hilarious. I was like, ‘What’s happening right now. What is happening?”
The two singers featured on the track “Lady Marmalade” in 2001, a collaboration which allegedly led to the years-long feud after the pair clashed in the recording session. But that beef is now in the rear-view mirror.
“She’s so talented and deep down I’ve had bad days too,” Pink said. “She’s a really sweet person. We made up on “The Voice.” I hadn’t seen her in years and years and years.”
When it comes to how they were able to put aside their differences, Pink had a simple answer, “We became moms. We grew up. We hugged it out. It’s that simple. I feel so good about that.”
Later, a caller asked Pink if she would ever consider collaborating with Christina again, to which the singer replied, “We may or may not have already collaborated. So, I don’t know if I’m allowed to say that, but I just did.”
Pink is currently promoting her new album “Beautiful Trauma” which was released last week. Watch her interview with Andy Cohen above and listen to her talk about working with Eminem below.
