Justin Timberlake “Can’t Stop the Feeling” he is performing at next year’s Super Bowl!
The talented singer, 36-years-old, announced his big gig in a humorous skit with close friend Jimmy Fallon. “I do have the time… half the time,” Timberlake tweeted alongside his reveal video.
Reports of negotiations for Timberlake to perform at next year’s event first surfaced in September. The famous singer has previously performed alongside Janet Jackson at the 2004 Super Bowl, where he infamously and accidentally exposed Jackson’s breast. Timberlake also performed as part of NSYNC at the 2001 Super Bowl.
Speaking of Jackson, a spokesperson for the NFL confirmed the songstress is not banned from a potential guest performance at Super Bowl LII. “There’s no ban. We are not going to comment on any speculation regarding potential guests,” the spokesperson said in a statement obtained by ET Canada. “There may be no guests.”
“Along with Pepsi, we’re excited to have Justin Timberlake. Like the elite NFL players who can run, catch, and block, Justin can do it all – sing, dance, act and entertain,” they continued. “He’s the ultimate global superstar who we know will put on an entertaining and unifying show that will appeal to the massive worldwide audience.”
Just one minute after Timberlake’s announcement, the NFL’s official Twitter confirmed the news with a special graphic.
Super Bowl LII takes place on Feb. 8 at the U.S. Bank Stadium in Minneapolis, Minnesota.
