Sean Hayes finally sits down with Ellen DeGeneres after a health scare forced him to postpone his original appearance.
Hayes, 47, was slated to appear on the “The Ellen DeGeneres Show” weeks ago, but cancelled after suffering some alarming health symptoms. “I went to bed at night and I suddenly felt this excruciating pain in my stomach,” Hayes explains on Wednesday’s program.

The “Will & Grace” star made an impromptu trip to the emergency room that evening and thank goodness he did! “I had a very rare thing where my small intestine burst open and it was poisoning my body,” he reveals.
“They put you on so many drugs that you’re high out of your mind,” the actor says of the procedure to reconnect his small intestine. Hayes reveals he was so hopped up on medication, he told DeGeneres’ producer he would attend their originally scheduled interview, no problem. That idea was quickly shut down by Hayes’ husband, Scott Icenogle.
