“Outlander” fans are a dedicated group, and when one fan got a hold of the script for the W Network series’ hotly anticipated reunion between Jamie and Claire, they noticed one key moment from the novel was missing from the final episode.

The scene, which features Jamie, played by Sam Heughan, seeing pictures of his and Caitriona Balfe’s character Claire’s daughter Bree for the first time, had been changed from what was written.

A fan on Twitter posed the question of what happened to that scene to the official “Outlander” writers account.

The writers account responded that they too were disappointed that the moment of Jamie breaking down didn’t make it into the episode.

They then clarified that the decision to leave the moment out had nothing to do with Heughan’s performance in the scene.

Heughan himself then responded that dropping the moment was an “organic” result of their process.
