Donna Karan is vehemently apologizing for suggesting the alleged victims of Harvey Weinstein were “asking for it.”
In a new interview with “Good Morning America”, Karan admitted the error of her ways. “I made a huge, huge mistake,” Karan told Robin Roberts on Monday’s show. “What I said is so wrong, not who I am.”

“I love women. I absolutely adore women. I care for them. I’m a mother, I’m a grandmother,” she continued. “I’ve never done this before and I’ll never ever do it again. That’s not me. That is not me.”
The fashion designer received severe backlash earlier this month after her comments, but now insists she was uninformed and “exhausted” when seemingly defending Weinstein’s alleged actions.
“I had just come from a 14-hour plane trip,” she explained. “I walked into a situation that I wasn’t prepared for — in any circumstances whatsoever.”
“I heard a whisper but there were whispers all over,” she said of the allegations against Weinstein. “It wasn’t until a day and a half after the I truly heard about it. That’s my honest truth. I didn’t know.”
