The phenomenal “Lion King” cast may have recently been announced, but Quavo has now suggested the Migos should join the actors and actresses who have been confirmed to star in the eagerly-anticipated remake.
Quavo, 26 – real name Quavious Keyate Marshall – has said that the Migos, who also consist of Offset and Takeoff, should take on the role of the three hyenas; Shenzi, Banzai and Ed.
Despite the rapper’s tweet, the cast was recently announced to be complete, with a press release confirming that one of the hyena voices had already been selected as Florence Kasumba; who will play Shenzi.
Kasumba, 41, will replace Whoopi Goldberg, 61, who played the character in the original version.
Fans immediately took to Twitter in droves to beg Disney to consider Quavo’s offer, with one person posting: “Y’all gotta get Migos to play the 3 hyenas,” as a second added: “This needs to happen OMG.”
Quavo’s latest post comes after Beyonce was confirmed to be starring as Nala in the upcoming flick.
“It is a director’s dream to assemble a talented team like this to bring this classic story to life,” director Jon Favreau said of the cast, which includes Donald Glover as Simba, James Earl Jones as Mufasa and Chiewetel Ejiofor as Scar.
